About Aerarium

Source-first research, built by an investor

Aerarium is an equity research platform where every number is traceable to the document it came from. No black-box data feeds, no mystery adjustments, just company financials, filings, funds, and market context pulled straight from primary sources and checked against the filings’ own totals.

Why I built Aerarium

I’ve been investing since the day I turned 18, and I’ve always wanted the same thing: to see where a number actually comes from. Most retail tools hand you a figure with no lineage: you can’t tell whether revenue is as-reported or adjusted, which filing it came from, or whether the segments even add up. The tools that do show their work cost thousands of dollars a year and are built for institutions.

I built Aerarium to close that gap: institutional-grade, source-traceable financial data that an individual investor can actually use. The guiding principle is simple: absent beats wrong. If a number can’t be traced to a filing and reconciled, Aerarium would rather not show it than show something misleading.

Where the numbers come from

Financial data is pulled directly from SEC EDGAR (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, Form 4, 13F, and proxy filings), parsed at the filing level so each data point keeps a reference to its source accession. Prices, estimates, and macro series come from public market and government sources (yfinance, FRED, and others).

Everything runs through a bronze → silver → gold pipeline: raw filings are archived, parsed, normalized, and then reconciled against the filing’s own reported totals before anything reaches a chart. Revenue segments, for example, are only shown when they foot to the total the company itself reported. You can read exactly how this works in the research library, and every figure on a company page links back to the primary source so you can verify it yourself.

What’s inside

Aerarium covers 500+ S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 companies, with 30+ years of history wherever XBRL filings exist. On every company you get:

  • Interactive financial charts across 24 metrics, plus a five-section summary dashboard (valuation, cash flow, margins, balance sheet, dividends)
  • Revenue segments, 13F institutional holdings, insider transactions, and analyst ratings
  • Earnings calendar, short interest, fails-to-deliver, and AI-generated filing summaries and material-event tracking
  • A stock screener, chart builder, and portfolio/watchlist tools
  • A full macro dashboard: yield curve, fed-funds futures, mortgage rates, commodities, and the economic calendar

Who’s behind it

Aerarium is built and run by me, Vedang Vadalkar, a CFA charterholder and engineer based in Vancouver. I hold an MS in Civil Engineering from Stanford, work as a project manager on major infrastructure projects by day (where I live in financial controls, forecasting, and dashboards), and I’ve been an active investor and markets nerd since my teens; finance was effectively a second language growing up.

That combination, a finance foundation from the CFA program and the engineering chops to build a real data pipeline, is why Aerarium exists. It’s an independent, self-funded project: no outside data licensing shortcuts, no VC pressure to cut corners on the data. Just the platform I always wished I had.
